Composition II Annotated Bibliography Example for Research Paper

Not in anyway giving anyone permission to plagiarize or copy this and also not verifying the authenticity of any of the information. Also note that there are probably no sources listed and I am not one myself, so don't quote me. This is just some of my homework; thought it might be interesting to someone:

ENC 1102
10/11/2011
Annotated Bibliography for Research Paper
"Finding a Scientific Connection Between Food Choices and the Environment." Environmental Nutrition 32.10 (2009): 3. Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition. EBSCO. Web. 11 Oct. 2011.
This article examines and compares the relative effects on the environment of a vegetarian and non-vegetarian diet. It is relevant to my research because it highlights one of my major points about the advantages of vegetarianism, which is that it is less harmful to the environment. I am planning to use it and some of the facts that it includes to highlight the environmental advantages of a vegetarian diet.
Eckholm, Erik. "Farmers and Activists Move Toward a Truce on Animals' Close Quarters." New York Times 12 Aug. 2010: A18(L). Academic OneFile. Web. 11 Oct. 2011.

This news article discusses the current conditions that food-animals are raised in and some of the legislation regarding animal welfare that has been passed in the last few years. It is relevant because it discusses some inhumane practices that are currently common in raising animals and it highlights the shortcomings of laws to protect the rights of animals. It will be helpful to me when making points regarding animal welfare and the lack of humane treatment in factory farming.
Sabate, Joan and Wien, Michelle. “Vegetarian Diets and Childhood Obesity Prevention.” The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. American Society for Nutrition, 2010. Web. 11 Oct. 2011.
This article primarily discusses the health benefits of vegetarian diets and their potential to prevent obesity in both adults and children. It is relevant to one of my major points and beliefs about non-vegetarianism, which is that it promotes the obesity epidemic we are seeing in America right now. I will use some of the statistical and research information when making my point about the health benefits of a vegetarian diet.
Foer, Jonathan Safran. Eating Animals. New York: Little, Brown and, 2009. Print.
This book is the result of dedicated research conducted by, as well of the personal experiences of, Mr. Foer. It covers all aspects of vegetarianism relevant to my topic, including the health benefits, environmental benefits, and moral considerations of vegetarianism. I believe the information in this book can be used to support all of my points because it is filled with facts and statistical information, as well as many logical and moral points from the author.
Vegetarian Diets. United States Department of Agriculture. “Vegetarian Eating.” fnic.nal.usda.gov. US Dept. of Agriculture, n.d. Web. 11 Oct. 2011.
The USDA has a section of their website dedicated to the health benefits of a vegetarian diet that includes nutritional benefits, recipes, facts, myths, etc. It is relevant to the health aspects of my topic, but is also a very credible source. Most people would not imagine that the USDA, which regulates and promotes the meat industry, would also provide information about the health benefits of vegetarianism. It will be useful to me when making a point of the health benefits of vegetarianism.
